Well as many of you know, I have pretty much been the sole writer of articles here at brain-donors.com for some time now, and seeing as I started this website initially as a new home for my personal blog I suppose that makes sense. Most of those articles have been Zombie related, because let's be honest what the fuck else would I write about? That said, coming up with new topics to talk about on a daily basis was becoming a bit of a pain in my ass. I just wouldn't feel right foisting quickie paragraphs on you folks every day as some blogs do, so something had to be done. A while back I hatched this brilliant scheme to take some of the load off my shoulders and at the same time give you future brain donors a shot at taking on the subject of Zombie Apocalypse Survival for yourselves.
Around the beginning of February I began running this ad on Facebook looking for writers interested in writing a weekly Zombie Survivalist blog for brain-donors.com. Some of you may remember seeing it as it was on my Facebook wall at least once a week for nearly a month. The idea was to bring someone on board who could fill in for me on Tuesdays and Thursdays and and take some of the pressure of keeping up a daily blog off of me.
Well I am happy to announce that I had some wonderful writers apply for the position. Although initially I was only looking for one writer, after going through the testing phase and seeing what these writers could dish up, I simply couldn't make up my mind between the final two, so I asked them both to join the team. I liked what they had to say so much I also decided to extend their column from my original plan of articles on Tuesday and Thursday to include Saturday as well.
For the past week the three of us have been meeting and putting things together, and so without further adieu I'd like to introduce you to the two ladies who will be writing our new featured blog "SURVIVE THIS!", the twins A.K Abby and Dr. Dee Kay.
First up we have A.K. Abby. In my personal opinion Abby is the wild child of the pair. She is bold, brash and won't mince words word with you. She sure as hell won't mince words with the likes of me and my kind. She carries herself as though she would be just as comfortable emptying a magazine into a Zombie like me as she would be partying on a Saturday night, and I have a feeling the lady knows how to party. She has a very specific distinctive style of her own, and I am sure all of you will thoroughly enjoy reading what she has to say on just about any topic.
Next up we have Dr. Dee Kay. Dee Kay is probably the more quiet of the twins but this lady knows her shit, and common sense is her stock in trade. Don't expect her to have a very high tolerance for idiots, and that is probably why I like her so much, even though I know she'd kill me the first chance she got. The Doctor's style lends itself more to the clinical and practical and let's face it sometimes being practical is what will keep you alive. Take her words to heart, because trust me if I had my way I'd see you all served up for lunch.
The series will begin tomorrow April 3rd and there will be new articles every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from here on out. The first few articles will consist of the writing samples the women submitted during the testing process, so some of them will be on the same subject matter, but with very different viewpoints. What more would you expect from a pair of identical twins?
The ladies will be taking turns writing articles for the blog and since Abby won the coin toss the first article you read will be written by her. Dee Kay's first article will appear on Thursday and the articles will flip flop between them from there on out.
So in closing, I wanted to take this time to welcome both ladies to the brain-donors.com team and let you readers out there know that there are some really great articles headed your way. Trust me as the editor I've read them already, and there is some really good shit there to be enjoyed by all of you. So stay tuned for tomorrow's first article, and as the ladies like to say....
"You heard it here first, now SURVIVE THIS!"
