As twenty twelve steadily moves forward towards that dreaded day in December, the day that has been infamously referred to as Doomsday, I thought I would share some of my insights on the matter, as well as provide some information on what others believe. Even if you have been locked in your mom’s basement for years without seeing the light of day, you have heard about, maybe even talked about Doomsday yourself. Ideas as to how and when it will happen are shared by many. Will any of you be right? Will all of you be proven wrong? Only months to go before the end is here and we all perish in a world ending disaster, or will we believers become the butt of some future internet joke? Only time will tell I suppose.
Nostradamus was a 16th century French apothecary, who strangely enough he was born on December 21st, the same day some are predicting is when the end will come. Is it a coincidence then that he was able to correctly predict the future more often than not? Or is it just that he was born attuned to the universe due to other factors as opposed to it just being a case of the right place and time?
We may never know, but we do know that he has made some remarkable predictions and a lot of them have come to pass. He predicted 9-11, Hitler, and even the first African-American president, Barack Obama. It was this prediction that will lead us into his Doomsday prophecies though. Nostradamus wrote that a person similar to Obama will come in contact with a person who will be revealed to be the anti-Christ. This person is going to be directly responsible for the start of the third world war. However it is also said that this war will start after 2012 and will destroy all countries except India and China who will refuse to participate.
Of course Nostradamus also predicted in his works that a large comet shall strike the Earth. This will cause mass destruction in the form of earthquakes, tidal waves, and floods. Do they happen together? Separate? Does the comet in fact help bring on WW3? All unanswered questions even today. However he does offer hope. His final prophecy is not expected to play out until 3790. So take heed in this, if the Earth suffers some sort of tragedy whether it is war, a comet, or Zombies, according to the French seer we will come back.
Then there is the Mayans, and their calendar which has caused some global panic. The 5,125 year cycle runs out on December 21st, 2012. Does that mean that they believe the world would just poof, and cease to exist? Does it signal the end of the world? The world blowing up or getting sucked into a black hole? Nope it just means that period is over and a new one starts. A new era starting.
Even the Mayans themselves made predictions well past the 2012 mark in history. In 4772 AD it is said that we will be rejoicing in celebration of the anniversary of a great Mayan King. Nowhere is it actually written in Mayan prophecy that the world will end, or an apocalypse will begin. People have just assumed that because the Mayans were such great astrologers, that when the calendar runs out this December that some huge disaster was going to wipe out mankind as we know it. Will a disaster come? Probably, but it may be this year or next, or even 100 years off. Will it affect our lives? Most definitely, but we will adapt to whatever it is as we have before. We will learn, we will adjust, and we will once again prosper.
We know there was a great disaster millions of years ago that wiped out the dinosaurs, yet the Earth went on. Creatures survived the great devastation. They adapted, they multiplied, and they prospered again. Cave men eventually evolved into modern men, and those damn pesky cockroaches continued to cause problems throughout the centuries. Millions of years from now those little buggers will still be scurrying around getting into shit. Anyhow, what I was I saying? Oh yes, even through disaster we shall find a way to evolve and triumph. The poles have reversed before, according to scientific data, except it happen gradually and over millions of years. The only difference was climate change, and because it was a gradual change even that went mainly unnoticed. We are prepared for just about any disaster that can be thrown at us. Yes many of will die and cease to exist, but humanity as a whole will find a way to move forward, to adjust, and to begin again.
The Bible also predicts the end of days, but it does not give specific dates. (Once again my religion is going to show, and this is my personal view and does not reflect the views of Brain-Donors.Com) The Apocalypse is mentioned in many books of the Bible and I will share those in no particular order. First in Matthew chapter 24 verses 5, it is written that as the end draws near you will see many men claiming to be Christ, and they will deceive many, but do not let them deceive you. When the time does come for Christ to return there will be no mistaking it. He will descend from the Heavens just as he ascended thousands of years ago. He will come from the East and proceed to the west obtaining those who believe in him. In Matthew it is also written that nation will fight nation, kingdom against kingdom, famines will spread, and earthquakes will rattle the globe, followed by persecution and death. In Acts 4:16 it is similarly written, “ The Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.”
You are not to know the day or hour of Christ’s return, but you can look for the seven signs of the Apocalypse and use them as a guideline to know that he will be coming soon. Those signs are as follows:
Many say silence is golden, but I am sure that when the time comes and all the Earth is in perfect silence those left will experience a fear never felt before. Whether you believe Doomsday will bring widespread natural disaster, the Zombie Apocalypse, Aliens, Super Volcanic Eruptions, comets, or Earth will just simply cease to exist, know that you prepare for it. Okay well if the Earth ceases to exist, then yes you're screwed, but everything else is survivable.
Remember you heard it here first now…. Survive This!
